Ms. Chourafa was a math teacher for nine years before becoming the Dean of Educational Planning at BAA. She has taught in the Boston Public Schools since 2001 and was a founding teacher at both Boston Community Leadership Academy and Social Justice Academy. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Science Education from the University of Michigan, and her Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Boston College. Ms. Chourafa merges her love of foreign languages and photography by traveling to a different country every year. She has been to Canada, Puerto Rico, Morocco, Spain, France, England, Italy, Luxembourg, Andorra, Germany, Belgium, Lebanon, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Syria and South Africa. She is fluent in French and Arabic.
