Bennett is a Boston-born artist, educator, and proud alumnus of the Boston Arts Academy, where he now serves as the Chair of Theatre and Media Arts. As a working artist embedded in the Boston cultural landscape, Bennett brings a contemporary, practitioner-first lens to arts education, balancing rigorous conservatory-style training with culturally responsive pedagogy.
An accomplished actor, director, and musician, his professional theatrical footprint spans prominent regional stages, including recent work with Actors’ Shakespeare Project (notably in August Wilson’s Gem of the Ocean), Lyric Stage Company, Company One, SpeakEasy Stage, and the Huntington Theatre Company. Driven by a commitment to storytelling that centers diverse narratives, he frequently directs and champions new work and contemporary dramatic literature—including recent educational stagings of complex modern texts like Branden Jacobs-Jenkins’ Gloria.
Bennett is a Posse Alum from Hamilton College and a Resident Artist with Harvard University’s Freshmen Arts Program, specializing in frameworks like Universal Design for Learning (UDL) to make classical and contemporary performance techniques accessible to the next generation of storytellers. Whether in the rehearsal room, the classroom, or leading a department, his work centers on fostering community, artistic autonomy, and sustainable creative practices for young artists.
