To celebrate the historic inauguration of the nation’s first all-women executive team of Governor Maura Healey and Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll, Boston Arts Academy’s Spirituals Ensemble was invited to perform the National Anthem at the Moving the Ball Forward celebration at TD Garden on January 5, 2023. This group performed alongside headliner Brandi Carlile and Todd Angilly, a classically trained opera singer who is the national anthem singer for the Boston Bruins. Additional performers included Boston Gay Men’s Chorus, DJ Frenchy, Abilities Dance Company, Witch Pitch, OOMPA, and Sci Tech. The performance was broadcast on WBZ-TV and also streamed on the Statehouse website.
