I was born and raised in Massachusetts and am the youngest of 3 siblings. As a student I graduated from Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School, Principia College (B.A.) and Lesley University (M.Ed.). A defining moment for me personally and professionally was the opportunity to serve as a Peace Corps Volunteer in The Gambia, West Africa (2002-2003). My professional experiences have been dedicated to working and serving communities in the field of education and I have worked in schools in The Gambia, England and Boston. In every school that I have served in as a teacher, after-school educator, administrative assistant, or houseparent there has been one idea that has traveled with me throughout all of my experiences. It is my belief in the power and possibility of diverse school communities— full of students, teachers and local citizens— to make the world a better place. Forming this type of community has been one of my motivations for teaching and working in schools. Outside of my work in education, personally, I am married and a dad of two young sons who I enjoy exploring the world with together.
