Board of Trustees

Boston Arts Academy’s pilot school status with the Boston Public Schools allows the autonomy for the school to assemble its own Board of Trustees and Governing Council to act as the school site council. The Boston Arts Academy Board of Trustees sets the overall mission, philosophy, policies of the school, and oversee the school budget. Trustees also set the vision and strategic direction for the school, select and evaluate the Headmaster, and work to support faculty and staff. The Board is comprised of representatives of ProArts Consortium institutions, BAA faculty members, parents/caregivers, one student, and community members with an impressive range of professional expertise.

The Board of Trustees and Governing Council will each meet four times during the school year. Meetings are open to the community with students participating at nearly every meeting. Meeting dates are posted below:
