Angela Lou

Angela is drawn to teaching because she loves learning. It’s a special challenge for her to think about what students should know or be able to do, how to get them there, and lately, how to tap into good relationships to make the most of their learning. That means getting to know students individually and the class as a community.

Angela is a bit of a hobby-hopper. Things she has enjoyed are rock climbing, pottery glazing, bonfire making, ice skating, computer programming, metalsmithing, painting, singing, West African dance, piano, roller skating…you name it! She also enjoys skiing. What would she like to learn next? American Sign Language.

Angela occasionally writes about teaching. She wrote an article on how she learned to become a better math teacher (despite her background in the sciences), and another on how and why she integrates the arts into STEM teaching.
