Help Evaluate Student Grant Proposals on March 29

Boston Arts Academy believes that community engagement is essential to our students’ education and growth.

Please sign up to be a judge at our 2017 Senior Grant Project Fair on Wednesday, March 29, 5-8:30 pm, at Boston Arts Academy, located at 174 Ipswich Street in the Fenway neighborhood of Boston.

Every year, our juniors use their arts training to design a project that addresses a need they see in their community. They then write “grant proposals” for funding their projects and present their proposals to panels of judges, made up of outside educators, artists, business and non-profit leaders, and supporters.

The most feasible Senior Grant Projects move on to a finalist night and can be awarded up to $500 for implementation during their senior year.

RSVP to be a Panelist

Expectations for panelists:

– Review up to three 2-page written proposals that will be sent to you via email by Wednesday, March 15
– Attend the Senior Grant Project Fair on Wednesday, March 29, 5-8:30 pm, which consists of:

  • Orientation
  • Evaluation of student presentations – you will be provided a simple rubric
  • Dinner with your fellow panelists

Your voice and personal experience is invaluable to our students as they learn how to best present their ideas. No particular experience needed!
