Boston Arts Academy is so grateful to our 2014 Boston Marathon team for running the 118th Boston Marathon and raising over $150,000 for the school!
In honor of his 74th birthday, Boston entrepreneur Bill Schawbel ran the 2014 Boston Marathon and pledged $75,000, dollar-for-dollar challenge match for Boston Arts Academy. Through his generous gift, Boston Arts Academy met and surpassed the $150K challenge to raise $160,000 for the school! These critical funds support the school’s arts teachers and arts programming not covered by district allocations – without which there would be no Boston Arts Academy. The school had six members from their 2013 team return to run and finish the race they started last year. Thank you and Happy Birthday Bill!
Over the last three years, our Marathon teams have raised almost $300,000 and been incredible ambassadors for the school and our students. Like so many, we are grateful for the leadership of the Boston Athletic Association and the City of Boston surrounding the events on April 15, 2013.
